Reporting to the Head, Projects and Facilities, within the Sourcing and Facilities team, the Energy Manager will be charged with the responsibility of meeting regulatory requirements by identifying, monitoring and recording of energy levels and usage within the bank.

Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:
  • Prepare checklists and circulate to capture weekly, monthly and annual energy consumption in the business.
  • Prepare and maintain records of diesel, water and electricity consuming equipment for all premises.
  • Identify high energy consuming facilities and implement energy efficiency practices to reduce energy consumption.
  • Monitor costs and control capital expenditure for projects within the agreed budget.
  • Prepare reports, propose and set minimization measures to be taken by those companies contracted by the Bank.
  • Arrange and ensure energy audits are carried out regularly and keep up to date with changes in legislation in accordance with the Energy Management Regulations ACT 2012.
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation and initiatives, including ERC energy performance directives.
  • Educate and train all staff by having innovate ideas to raise awareness on how to act in an energy efficient way.
  • Be proactive in driving new initiatives and adopting new more energy efficient technologies.
  • Control Capital Expenditure for projects ensuring that they are within agreed budget, time and quality during design and implementation/supervision stages.
The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Certification as an Energy auditor by ERC or postgraduate diploma in energy management will be an added advantage.At least 3 years’ experience in a role handling, monitoring, reporting energy consumption trends.
  • Knowledge of industry requirements and regulatory compliance coupled with a good understanding of legislation energy management.
  • Ability to work well in a team, as well as manage multiple priorities in the quick time frames.
  • Excellent business skills and knowledge of managing budgets, leading a team and liaising with suppliers.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to deal professionally, confidently and effectively with staff and vendors at all levels, internally and externally.




This is an entry and training grade for graduate cadre.

  • An officer at this level will work under direct supervision of a senior officer.
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
  • KCSE C+ and above;
  • Recognized Bachelors degree in the relevant field, i.e. Mechanical Engineering;
  • Be proficient in computer applications;
  • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution.




Key responsibilities for the role include:
  • Liaising with science teaching staff on their needs for practical work and maintain an efficient system for use and allocation of materials and equipment, setting a priority system where necessary.
  • Advising science teaching staff on technical components of curriculum.
  • Assisting science teaching staff with demonstrations.
  • Assisting science teaching staff in instructing students on use/care of equipment.
  • Advising and assist science teaching staff in safety matters relating to the science laboratory.

Skills and Qualifications required:
  • Diploma or certificate in Science Laboratory Technology in Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized institution.
  • You possess 1-3 years of working experience in a recognized secondary school or equivalent institution.
  • You are able to prepare students’ practical work up to 8-4-4 level with minimum supervision.

Responsible to maintain safe and effective ground movement of aircraft towing including the supervision of safe start-up procedures. Perform towing operations as well as clean aircraft while observing the highest safety standards in accordance with AMREF Flying Doctors set standards of operation.

  • Performing towing task as per directive of duty supervisor.
  • Conducting operational inspection of tow tractor and tow bar before every use.
  • Perform manoeuvring aircraft inside/outside hangar.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the towing tractor at all time.
  • Monitoring radio communication, towing request instruction as per the duty supervisor/officer.
  • Monitor Aircraft Traffic Control (ATC) radio communication especially during towing aircraft.
  • Comply with the company’s towing Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) at all times and Safety regulation KCARS, KAA and IATA Safety Standards.
  • Perform other ground handling duties as below:
a. Ensuring cleanliness of the aircraft as per company standards
b. Preparing the aircraft for flights
c. Re-fuelling and de-fuelling
d. Loading and off-loading of the aircraft

  • Assigned  common tools

  • To supervise maintenance activities carried out by sub contractors; provide access to offices and document sub contractors’ visits.

The incumbent of the position will be responsible of undertaking all the actions that assure the civil work within Network Implementation

  • Supervision/ follow up of civil related works carried out under the Department or within the Institution as may be required from time to time.
  • Interpretation of the Technical drawings and validation for implementation in the field.
  • Preparation of the Bill of Quantities related Civil Works or any related works within the company

Execute the maintenance and operations activities on transmission equipment, ensuring the quality and continuity of the services as per the company KPIs. He/she will also execute the transmission network extensions, detect and repair dysfunctions of transmission network elements.

  • Periodically check/monitor booked faulty Trouble Tickets assigned
  • Execute on the booked trouble tickets by repairing the dysfunctional transmission line/node within the set KPI.
  • Work in Coordination with support and NMC teams while analyzing fault incidents, to ensure that accurate & timely correction is achieved and that clears are confirmed and communicated as necessary.
  • Jointly perform new site commissioning tests with equipment vendors and only accept links/sites that qualify criteria set in the engineering standards & equipment factory specifications.
  • Ensure transmission network functionality in the limit of KPI through interventions, corrective and preventive maintenance actions

Acquires sites for telecommunication installations, acquire permits as necessary and provide liaison with contractors and statutory bodies on matters related to the above.

  • Evaluating the suitability of the acquired sites to ensure successful rollout.
  • Confirm authenticity of ownership by obtaining standard ownership documents.
  • Negotiate for competitive rent and ask landlord to sign letter of offer.
  • Prepare and submit three signed letters of offer for each site acquired and approved by technical survey team to Legal Department for confirmation and submission to CEO for approval
  • Negotiate for competitive rent on contract renewal for existing sites.
  • Apply to KCAA for inspection and approval of tower heights planned for the sites acquired.
