Operation of Station equipment and monitoring of processes to facilitate efficient movement of products and ensure that pumping operation in the station is carried out safely and in accordance to set procedures and parameters.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the field equipment as may be directed by the Station Controller.
  • Monitor product levels in dump tanks and the interceptor as required and arrange for their off-loading as directed by the Station Controller.
  • Maintain checks on the field equipment status and good in-house keeping and keep a log in a clear manner.
  • Man the station during Telemetry failure.
  • Monitor line pressure and pump parameters and liaises with NCC on the same for smooth operations of the line.
  • Raise defect notifications to relevant sections to attend to defective equipment.
  • Report incidences and unusual events to various levels of authority as appropriate.
  • Attend to ESD occurrences.
  • Maintain and record shift events in the logbook in clear manner.
  • Ensure equipment defect reports are raised to facilitate timely repair.
  • Ensure that maintenance and other related activities in Tank Farm and Plant areas are carried out according to laid down safety procedures
  • Maintain up to date record of outstanding equipment defect
  • Ensure proper housekeeping of plant area
  • Participate in products tank draining programme.
  • Issue and supervise work permits on equipment maintenance and other maintenance activities
  • Initiate and coordinate mainline pigging programmes in liaison with operations engineer.
  • Prepare and implement tank and meter calibration programmes
  • Take part in Stock Taking activities.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in any Engineering field from a recognized institution
  • Minimum three (3) years relevant experience.

  • Ability to acquire knowledge and understanding of KPC System.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills including ability to write reports.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness in getting quick understanding of operations issues and the ability to identify with precision the critical factors of a problem at hand.

Reporting to: Manager, Mombasa Submarine Network Cable Landing Station

Role Purpose:
The incumbent will be In charge of transmission activities in the sector and equipment allocated to him/her.

Responsibilities
  • To liaise with the network administrators in NOC stations for provisioning and testing of new customer’s circuits.
  • To assist the NOC’s in faulting on existing circuit faults and to perform maintenance procedures on the DCN servers and switches.
  • To ensure prompt completion and physical provisioning of customer’s circuit on the optical distribution frame (ODF) at the landing station.
  • To liaise with the customer and provide backhaul connectivity at the Members Meeting Room.
  • To advise customers on the available services as provided by TEAMS, EASSY and LION2.
  • To monitor and interpret traffic performance via the NMS (Network Management System).
  • To initiate fault clearance procedures based on alarms log from the network management systems and also on incidences as reported by the customer supervisory centers.
  • To escalate faults that appear on the station equipment to the concerned parties based on contractual agreement.
  • To ensure prompt traffic restoration and to institute action plans during emergencies like submarine cable cuts and/or failure of undersea submerged repeaters and equalizers.
  • To perform daily, weekly and monthly routine maintenance procedures on Power Feeding Equipment, rectifiers and batteries, and conduct Land cable routine check.
  • Performs corrective maintenance procedures in case of the malfunction or breakdown of the DWDM Submarine landing station equipment.
  • To check, record and institute corrective maintenance procedures on the auxiliary subsystems.
  • To ensure that all test gears e.g. power meters, OTDR, OSA etc. are well calibrated and available for use during emergencies.
  • To perform preventive maintenance procedures on the GENSET and to report promptly to the maintenance contractor in case of anomalies
  • To assist contractors technically and logistically during new installations or as otherwise directed by the Landing Station Manager.
  • To conduct orientation tours to members and/or visitors as directed by the Landing Station Manager
  • Prepare Fault Resolution Report on all fault incidences attended
  • Prepare reports for Routine Maintenances on SLTE, SIE, PFE, Battery-banks &rectifiers
Academic/ Professional Qualifications
  • Degree in Telecommunications/Engineering with three(3) years’ experience
  • Diploma in Telecommunications/Engineering with six (6) years’ experience or any-related technical degree/Diploma from a recognized institution.

Reporting to the Head – Projects & Facilities Unit, the Services Engineer will be charged with the responsibility to ensure proper and cost effective maintenance of serviceable items i.e. air conditioners, electrical faults, structured cabling, generators and other bank equipment.

The Role
Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:
  • Design maintenance strategies, procedures and methods including planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance to minimize unpredicted breakdowns, assess and analyze repair and breakdown costs and recommend equipment upgrading or replacement.
  • Manage and oversee routine scheduled maintenance work and respond to equipment faults while carrying out quality inspections on jobs to verify and forward job cards and invoices to Finance for payment.
  • Arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components. This will entail preparing bills of quantities for new and refurbished branches to include intruder alarm, CCTV, internal and fascia signage.
  • Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs by responding to breakdowns with agility and following up with vendors doing diagnosis and repair of equipment.

  • Control Capital Expenditure for projects and maintain renovation costs.
  • Maintain statistical and financial records for premises and equipment that are up-to-date.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.

Reporting to the Head Projects and Facilities, the role-holder will provide support to the Bank in construction / project management: maintenance and security of the Bank’s capital assets in particular Bank premises with emphasis on structural and construction issues.   • Review bills of quantities and other tender documents prepared by the consultants for projects that are being supervised by external consultants to ensure they are complete, up-to standard and cost effective for the Bank.
  • Analyze and report on opened tenders and quotations, negotiating with potential suppliers/ contractors and advising on contractor selection for projects done in house (i.e. where external consultants are not involved).
  • Ensure strict adherence to all regulations, statutes, standards, practices and all internal processes and procedures as per the relevant manuals and comply with all relevant external legislation and regulations with regard to Compliance requirements.
