Anyone can lose their job in their lives. It happens and it will happen as we get deep into the Internet Age. Job Security is now an alien concept in these days of Outsourcing, Job Contracts, Automation and the Gig Economy. So what should you do when you eventually find yourself jobless.

1. First, DON'T PANIC. Panic will just increase your anxiety levels and worries which can lead to DEPRESSION.
2. STRATEGIZE: Plan your next steps. Plan ahead. Losing a job is not the end of your life.
3. GET INTO YOUR HOBBIES: Remember those music lessons you ditched because of your job. What about Art? Now is the time to get involved in your hobbies.
4. VOLUNTEER. Look at volunteering opportunities in your neighborhood or city. Get into one or two initiatives and keep yourself busy.
5. EXERCISE. Keep yourself healthy by exercising. Exercise has been shown to as a Stress buster.
6. NETWORK. Unemployment provides a good chance to get out there and go to conferences, meetups and events; things many cannot do once they are employed.
7. Finally, TALK TO SOMEONE OR SHARE YOUR JOBLESSNESS EXPERIENCES. That way you will come to meet other people going through the same situation, network and share each others burden. This site is just a start.

So if you are feeling stressed out that you are just jobless don't agonize about it.

  Day 822, Update: I got a part time internship, no pay but it's okay. It's something that is better than nothing. Something that keeps me busy and less depressed. Let's give it a shot and see where it goes...

  Let's say it was a restructure not sacking. Let me see if I can restart this swim instructor side hustle again. At late 40's I am not that old. So last week but one spent my time moving around local swimming pools to see if there is an opportunity. Knocked on a few doors here and there. Lucky enough got one.   Hi i'm new here finally a place to vent and not feel all alone? this world is harsh I remember how I used to be involved in so many activities in university eti building my cv ???eh joke of the century we are still jobless and depressed sometimes all you have to do is laugh coz the continuous tears on a daily have dried up your eyes.   Day 809 since I graduated and no job, no internship, no attachment... Walking around offices in town dropping applications only for them to end up in the trash. Being so broke I have to choose whether to print one more cv or buy bundles. Isolating myself from former uni friends who seem to be prospering in their lives. Depressed doesn't even cut it to what I feel every single day....

  No joke, my applications sent has rolled over 100. I am stuck in a sex-tourism city with no opportunities, inability to move due to my single mother and I being the only family left and we've a house that just won't sell, and can't be left. It's all of our assets. Giving for rent will only end up in a negative loss No-one's been earning for years, we've only been spending 3 years for sure, waiting for me to graduate, and I'm still of no use.   Now it's time to laze around at the local eatery. Then we will head back to the offices with toothpicks in our mouths pretending we ate meat yet it is the usual ugali - bean stew. We Nairobians know how to pretend. You see everyone sharp, well-dressed in the morning but during lunch time we are at the local kibanda. It's like those UON gals who look upmarket but during lunch time they are eating at that kapoint next to Kenya National Theater where a mama has set up shop selling food to people...
